About FeedSave

A short, honest description of what this site is, so you can decide whether to trust it with a paste of your clipboard.

What the site does

FeedSave takes a link to a public Instagram or Facebook video and returns the video file behind it. That is the entire product. There is no app, no account, no upload feature and no library of other people content sitting on our servers.

When you paste a link, our server requests that public page the same way a search engine crawler would, reads the video address out of the response, and either hands you that address or streams the file through to your browser. Nothing is stored permanently. A resolved link sits in a short cache so a viral post is not re-fetched hundreds of times, and it clears itself within the hour.

What it deliberately will not do

We do not touch private accounts, friends-only posts, private groups or anything else that requires a login. Not because it is difficult, but because doing it would mean either asking you for a Meta password or using stolen session tokens, and both are lines we are not going to cross.

We do not ask you to sign in. We do not run a browser extension. We do not offer a desktop installer. Downloader sites that push all three are usually monetising something other than the download.

We also do not fake results. If a lookup fails, the page tells you the real reason: the post is private, the post was deleted, the audio was pulled, the link points at a profile instead of a video. A spinner that runs forever and then offers you a survey is not a product, it is a trap.

Why it exists

Meta has removed the save button from almost everything. Screen recording gives you a copy with the interface baked in, a shaky frame rate and whatever notification arrived halfway through. For a lot of ordinary reasons, a journalist archiving a public statement, a teacher keeping a clip for a lesson, someone saving a family video before an account is deleted, the file itself is what you need.

That is the gap this fills. It is a narrow tool for public content, and it is meant to stay narrow.

Our relationship with Meta

FeedSave is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Meta Platforms, Instagram or Facebook in any way. Those names appear here only to describe which public services the tool reads from, and all trademarks belong to their owners.

Because we depend on public pages that Meta can change at any time, features occasionally break. When they do we fix them. There is no guarantee of uptime and no promise that any given link will always work.

How it is paid for

Running the lookups costs money in bandwidth and server time. If advertising appears on the site, it will be ordinary display advertising that does not require you to install anything, complete an offer or hand over personal details before a download unlocks. We will not use download-gating, forced redirects or fake update prompts.

Getting in touch

Questions, bug reports and rights complaints all go through the Contact page, or directly to hello@example.com. Rights holders should read the takedown section on the Disclaimer page first, because it explains what we can and cannot remove given that we host none of the content.
